HI! I am the “Cara” in Made by Cara.

First and foremost, I am a Mommy to a 3-year-old brilliant, adorable, sweet, wonderful, funny, beautiful, etc. boy. He is my greatest fan, always telling me how pretty everything I make is. Will he still do that when he is a teenager?

Since I was a singer and performer until I had my boy, my creative outlet was in need of attention after a couple of years. I am a stay-at-home Mom, so I can’t do any shows. But I had to try and find something I liked, that I could do at home. I have always wanted to try beading, and I thought now would be the perfect time. So I tried it, and slowly but surely I started to experiment.

Then I wanted to see if I could learn to do a rosary, because I wanted to make one, as a gift for a good friend of mine’s Mom. So I looked at the websites of local beading stores for classes, and as if it were almost handed to me, I found at the very first store, not two days from that day, there was to be a rosary class. Well, I went, and it just seemed to come naturally to me. I was hooked. I made my friend’s Mom the rosary, made my friend a rosary as well, and after months of designing and executing, I have made and sold quite a few of them, and plan on doing it as long as I have people who wish to have them.

I also have very fond memories of being at my Grandma’s when I was a little girl, and watching in wonder as she prayed on her wood rosary. I make these rosaries in honor of her, a faithful and wonderful woman, who was the sweetest and best Grandma anyone could ever wish for.

I have grown to really love beading, and many things inspire my designs: I love colors from the Victorian era. I love making patterns with a bit of a twist. I love to work with cultured pearls and Swarovski crystals. I have done quite a bit of trial and error, and am still learning each day, but I offer any piece in the hopes that it might appeal to someone and make them say, “Oh, I like that!”

So, now I seemed to have found something I love to do, and I can still be at home with my boy. What more could any Mom ask for? ---Oh, of course! A wonderful husband who is so supportive and makes me a fabulous website with everything I ask for! Thank you Daniel! I just love it (and you!). Click here for his website. (I know, shameless plug).

I love to create, especially beautiful rosaries! I hope your purchase is everything you expect and more. And as for the rosaries, may you treasure them, or pass them on with love and blessings to another friend or family member. I feel honored to make them.
